Is it just me, or is this year's NDP so much better than previous years'? Maybe it's because I only started watching it after all the boring marches were over haha.
No lah, I think it's because this year's parade was helmed by Ivan Heng as the Creative Director. He is so much more involved in the local arts scene, and that's evident in the items that were rolled out, such as broadway-like songs by Koh Chieng Mun and George Chan. Much more theatrical and entertaining!

Kudos also to the Music Director, Dr Sydney Tan, for the fresh and moving re-arrangement to some familiar tunes. I especially liked "
It's the Little Things" from the 1990s, sung by Chen Weilian and Gayle Nerva this time :)

Hubby got to take his students to the preview this year. Apparently this year they omitted the free cap from the goodie bag and cut down on bottled water and snacks, causing hunger and sunstroke for the participants.
Some of the free ponchos didn't even have armholes, leaving his students bewildered and soaked when it rained that evening. Tsk tsk, that's what they get when they tried to cut budget and do it in-house instead of outsourcing this year.
