Was telling my hubby last night, that it's as though we're stuck in Groundhog Day. That's a reference to the 1993 Bill Murray movie where he lives the same day over and over again. Every morning wake up, go to work, drag ourselves through the day, back home, go tarbao dinner, crash in front of the TV, then to bed for some much needed sleep. In a blink of an eye, the cycle repeats itself. Why why why?
This way, we become eager for each day to pass so the weekend finally arrives. But if you think about it, our lives pass very quickly as well! I wouldn't want to be like the lyric in 《恰似你的温柔》 where 日复一日,年复一年... soon I'll be greyed and immobile, regretful of my lost youth and dreams.
A weather man is reluctantly sent to cover a story about a weather forecasting "rat" (as he calls it). This is his fourth year on the story, and he makes no effort to hide his frustration. On awaking the 'following' day he discovers that it's Groundhog Day again, and again, and again. First he uses this to his advantage, then comes the realisation that he is doomed to spend the rest of eternity in the same place, seeing the same people do the same thing EVERY day.
