Yesterday my hubby and I went to look at the new 'Remaking Punggol' exhibition. Maybe it's because we work in the civil service; everything sounded like the usual big talk crap. It's good if it happens, but I'm not optimistic. It all depends on who gets elected *big neon lights blinking hint hint* and whether there is enough demand. As it is the exhibition was full of "coulds"... a stadium could be built in the long-term... F&B outlets could be here... the man-made river could flow through here... hey, no promises my dear people.

Was thinking. Even if the plan goes through, what's in it for me? A new estate is coming up in the wonderful green plot in front of my block, totally blocking my view and wind, and blowing dust from the construction straight into my home. More facilities mean more people jostling to eat at the miserable few foodcourts around punggol. The planned river is a few streets away, no water view for me. The much-publicised tiered terraced housing will probably cost an arm and a leg and be allocated by the frustrating balloting system.
So why should I get all excited? That can wait til all that talk actually materializes.
