Got this through the usual forwarded (spam? heheh) mails from friends. When you're feeling overwhelmed by things, looking at such pics really reminds you how minute we actually are.
Planet earth is just one globe suspended in the vast universe.
Tectonic plates are just pieces of land floating on the waters.
Countries are just edges and pieces of land.A small city is just a dot in a country.
And us? Not even a speck.
For sure, whoever / whatever built this living system did not plan for humans to build infrastructure, economic systems, internet, financial industries etc. Only the basic was intended --- for living things to subsist.
So why are we making ourselves so troubled with all these man-made concoctions? Just so we can convince ourselves that we are superior sentient beings?
Just look at the basics in life, and be contented. I know, easy to say, difficult to do, now that we're already caught up in this city lifestyle. But it doesn't hurt to try. Cue the meaningful lyrics in this old Jacky Cheung song:
